Q. What are systems-built homes?   Top

A. Systems-built homes are built in a manufacturing facility in sections then transported to a job site 90-95% complete. Once the home reaches the job site, the sections are lifted onto the home's foundation by crane. A finish crew will then complete the home by tying in the roof sections, siding, and interior finish. Once the home is set, we can complete additional features such as garages, porches, and decks.

Q. Why should I choose a systems-built home over a conventionally built home?   Top

A. The systems-built construction process provides for a superior home. Because we build our homes indoors, in a controlled environment, we are able to maintain a steady and constant work force throughout the year that helps ensure quality measures are maintained. We are able to deliver a home to your site in 8-10 weeks resulting in faster completion time and less interest on your construction loan. Finally, every home is third party inspected in our facility prior to the standard on site inspections.

Q. How do I make the purchase?   Top

A. As an independent Systems-Built Custom Home builder, we will walk you through each step of the construction process ensuring that your home is completed on time and to specification.

Q. Where are the homes constructed?   Top

A. Homes are currently built in 14 states and the District of Columbia served by  state-of-the-art production facilities in Southern Virginia  . Plant tours are provided on a regular basis and are encouraged to all interested in the engineered system-built process. It is definitely an adventure worth experiencing.

Q. How long will it take to build  my custom home in the factory?   Top

A. The benefits of systems-built construction allow your new home to be completed, on average, in about 8-10 weeks. We will arrange for your site work to be completed while your home is simultaneously built in our facility. Once your home is complete it is transported to your site and readied for the final phase of construction. Generally you can move in 8-10 weeks after the home is placed on its foundation depending on the style of the home you have selected.

Q. What about additional features such as garages and decks?   Top

A. We offer these services as well. After your home is placed on its foundation, we will complete additional components such as porches, decks, and garages.

Q. Will I have a wide range of home styles to choose from?   Top

A. YES. we offer nearly 100  floor plan combinations and popular elevation styles in ranch, split level, cape cod and two-story designs. In addition to the many plans offered, we also have a wide range of optional designs to complement your floor plan. A staff of engineers is available to customize your home to meet your needs.

Q. Do you build only single family homes?   Top

A. NO. Many of the structures you see everyday are built using systems technology including apartment complexes, dormitories, townhouse communities, hotels, churches, office buildings as well as large tract single family developments. We can assist you with any of these structures as your requirements dictate.

Q. I am wheel chair bound. Can you build a home for me?   Top

A. YES. We can build your home designed to meet your current personal needs or in preparation of speculative future needs. We offer wider door openings and more accessible bath areas. Light switches and electrical sockets are appropriately placed. Our homes are adaptable to structural and optional changes to meet special homeowner needs.

Q. Are these homes the same as mobile homes?   Top

A. NO! "Modular" is sometimes confused with "Mobile" or "Manufactured" homes. Mobile/Manufactured housing is built to an entirely different code and there is no comparison to our homes.

Q. Can I do the work myself?   Top

A. YES. Most of our homes are delivered 90+% completed with the remaining finishing touches done when the home is on site. Though we are able to deliver a home 100% complete if you want. If however you have the skills to complete the work yourself, we can assist you with this effort.

Q. What about financing? Where can I get it and for how much?   Top

A. Our homes qualify for all mortgage programs. The same mortgage rules and regulations apply to purchasing a systems-built home as to a site-built homes. Assistance is also available in helping you to determine the financial program that best fits your needs.
